Simple SEO Tips for Real Estate Brokerage Websites

Most real estate professionals know that the industry is extremely competitive — even, or perhaps especially, online. Even though 90 percent of buyers use the Internet, there are tens of thousands of small, mid-sized, and large brokerages all vying for their share of the market. The good news? The local nature of real estate gives you a viable chance, provided you properly optimize your site for local search. With so much opportunity online, real estate brokerages cannot afford to miss out on this valuable traffic. SEO is now more important than ever!

SEO Tips for Real Estate

Since our inception, TRIBUS has been well-known for our real estate brokerage website Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts. We’ve shown consistent results to our clients, sometimes even increasing their organic traffic 25 percent or more within the first 60 days of going live with a custom real estate brokerage website. We pay special attention to all of our client websites, and if there is anything that the brokerage can be doing to better help with SEO, we’ll make sure to let you know. Additionally, advanced users can access page- and post-level SEO settings so that they can control granular SEO settings to maximize impact.

Target local keyword phrases

Many home shoppers will begin their research with a local keyword phrase, something like: “Denver Realtor.” TRIBUS understands that most real estate agents service multiple cities over a large region, but as a brokerage, try to focus on the city you primarily do business in first. From there, build out areas of your site that target other cities. Our Communities pages are a great tool for accomplishing this.

Write blog posts to highlight properties

Since your real estate agents can represent tens or even hundreds of listings at once, there may be a few key properties that the agent is especially keen to sell. A good way to secure traffic to your site for those properties is to write blog posts specifically for them. Each post should target the unique property address, as prospective homebuyers will be using that to search. The address then becomes a keyword! Optimize your individual agent bio

Your brokerage likely hosts a web page for each of your agent. This is a great space for your agents to optimize search for their names! People will search for their names, so it’s definitely something to optimize for. In addition to their names, your agents can use their bio pages to provide contact information and links to their personal websites.

Get listed in directories

Agent directories get a lot of traffic (Zillow alone had 1.147 billion views in a single month). It’s definitely worth your while to get your agents listed in them — that’s a lot of potential traffic to be captured if you’re listed in the right directories.

Now it’s time to act! Implementing these simple tips will have you well on your way to ranking higher in a Google search — even against the strongest sites like Zillow, Trulia, and Redfin. Also, with TRIBUS, you’re not alone: We’ll revisit each of our real estate brokerage clients’ SEO on an ongoing basis, and the more content each brokerage publishes, the bigger impact we can make for them.
